Berkshires Attract Well At Annual Pig Sale
The offering was of a very high standard with all animals in excellent condition at the annual pig sale of the Farmers’ Co-op. Auctioneering Co. held at Tauranga. The .pedigree Berkshire pigs were a very attractive line and competition for these were steady throughout. The large black breeding sows and boars also met a steady sale. A smaller number of Tamworths and Large Whites were catalogued and these created very keen competition. The entry of grade breeding sows was of the usual high quality and competition was extra keen, especially for sows close to farrowing. The top price of £3l was paid for a Tamworth-Berkshire cross sow.
