BEACON RETAINS TYSSEN TROPHY Meeting a strong challenge from a combined taxi driver’s team, the Beacon, team rose to the occasion and conclusively proved their superiority when they retained the Tyssen Challenge Trophy at the weekly shoot of the Whakatane - Legion Miniature Rifle Club. Fortytwo shooters took part during the evening, and some good scoring marked the change over to the eleven “bull” competition target. The Senior Trophy, the silver spoon was won by C. T. Bathe, and the Junior Pennant again went to R. Spong. Results: Juniors, shooting with possible of 50: R. D. Spong 48, R. Needham 44, J. Syme 43, J. Attwood 41, G. Bell 41, R. A. Bloor 36, T.
