Nukuhou W.I. Arranges For Ist Birthday Celebration

Final arrangements for the first birthday to be celebrated on August 17 were made at the monthly meeting of the Nukuhou Women’s Institute held at the home of Mrs R. Bell and presided over by Mrs W. E. McGillivray. Mrs M. King was appointed delegate to attend the Dominion Conference at Christchurch. An invitation was received from the Waiotahi Institute to attend their birthday celebrations. Competitions were well entered for ar-d Mesdames McLean and Stobbs acted as judges:— Single flower, Mrs King 1, Mrs T. Doran 2. Mrs Poole 3; multiple flower, Mrs King 1, Mrs Poole 2. Mrs Doran 3; best vegetable, Mrs Doran 1, Mrs King 2, Mrs Menzies 3; Anzac biscuits, Mrs Doran 1, Mrs Poole 2, Mrs N. Craig 3. A wall competition arranged by Mrs W. Macdonald, was won by Mrs Stobbs.
