No Special Buses Or Trains For Test At Auckland
So far no special provision has been made to run either special buses or trains from Whakatane to see the fourth Rugby test at Auckland on July 29. However, arrangements have been made by private bus companies to take parties.
The railways department has a special train leaving Rotorua at midnight on July 28 and arriving in Auckland early Saturday morning. The return will be made after the game when the train will leave at 6.55 p.m., arriving at Rotorua just after midnight. When inquiries were made at the Whakatane office of the Railway Road Services yesterday the Beacon was told that no bus would be provided unless there was a good demand. If enough people showed interest a bus would leave Whakatane to connect with the Rotorua train and return early Sunday morning.
