Book Commemorates Prowess Of Royal Artillery
Thirty thousand Royal Artillerymen gave their lives in the second world war. To pay tribute to their memory, and- record the valour and prowess of the regiment as a whole, a commemoration book, 1939-45, has just been published. It is not intended as a detailed history; rather an attempt to recreate through the stories of the men who served and fought, something of the ardour and- atmosphere of the war days. Fifty coloured plates and photo-gravures and a large number of photographs and drawings illustrate the book. All profits are going to the charitable funds of the Royal Artillery. Field Marshall Viscount Alanbrooke Master Gunner, says that the book is a priceless record of the imperishable spirit which inspired the regiment. The book is obtainable from Artillery House, Earle’s Court, London.
