THOMPSON CUP WON BY MRS J. CRITCHLEY
Competition' was,, keen at the Whakatane Rifle Club’s outdoor shoot, held on the Valley Road range on Saturday. The “Rae Thompson” Cup, which carries the annual outdoor championship, was the main attraction, and Mrs J. Critchley had a well deserved win, with a 93.4 score, closely followed by C. T. Bathe 92.4, A. Bradshaw 91.2 and W. P. Tyssen 92.1. A number of new members, not yet eligible to shoot for the Cup, also took part.
OTAKIRI ARCHERY RESULTS
W. Campbell won an Olympic round shoot with a score of 652 at the Otakiri Archery Club yesterday. A. E. Smith with 640 was second, and H. Foote 616 third. In the women’s shoot, 90 arrows at 30 yards, Mrs H. Foote 332 was first, then came Miss S. Tracey 119, Mrs L. Winters 141, Mrs G. Whalley 131.
