GAMES FOR SECOND WEEK Moving into the second week of the Whakatane basbetball competitions teams are now beginning to line out and after Saturday’s matches there siould be some indication as to who are the leaders. Paroa A and Olympics at this stage appear to be two of the strongest combinations although Poroporo B is improving steadily. Since their first games all teams have speeded up play considerably. The games for Saturday are:—
1.45 p.m.: Primary A v Primary B on Court 1, referee Mrs Shapley; Redwings v High School A Court 2, Miss Keepa; Poroporo v Paroa B Court 3, Mrs Dippie.
2.30 p.m.: High School v St. Joseph’s Convent Court 1, Miss Keeps; Taneatua v Poroporo B Court ’2, Mrs Shapley; Paroa A v Ruatoki Court 3, Miss Sisam: Olympics a bye.
