PUBLIC NOTICES Owing to the meeting of the Hon Mrs H. Ross on June 12, the afternoon meeting of the Bridge Circle has been cancelled. 110 BLACKLEG OR BLOOD POISONING NOW IS THE TIME TO USE PREVENTIVE VACCINE STOPS LOSSES IN VALUABLE EWES, HOGGETS AND LAMBS Every farmer should read the illustrated article in the March 2nd issue of the New Zealand Farmer dealing with the ever growing losses of valuable sheep from Blackleg or Blood Poisoning. Consult your local Veterinary Surgeon or Stock Inspector. Full supplies of T.V.L. Blackleg Vaccine now available from the Sole Agents, Wright, Stephenson & Co. Ltd., or from the Trentham Veterinary Laboratory. Descriptive pamphlets are also available. Stop your losses and act now. AGE AND TIME OF VACCINATION Lamb's: Where deaths from Blackleg follow marking, all unmarked lambs should be vaccinated immediately and marking deferred for a fortnight* after vaccination. Hoggets: Where losses are anticipated in hoggets on winter feed, they should be vaccinated a fortnight before going on this feed. Ewes: Where losses occur in ewes at lambing, they should be vaccinated two or three weeks before lambing commences. Lambs may be rendered immune up to the age of about six weeks by vaccinating the ewe a fortnight before lambing. Vaccination at an earlier date is not very effective in protecting the lambs. The ewes should therefore be divided into early and late lambers and each lot vaccinated a fortnight before lambing commences. For the protection of lambs, ewes must be vaccinated annually. Full supplies and necessary syringes available from WRIGHT, STEPHENSON & CO. LTD. Stock and Station Agents. 106 1950 DRIVERS’ LICENCES For the convenience of County residents Inspector Carling will attend the following places for the purpose of issuing drivers’ licences: Minginui, 10.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. Thursday, June 15..
