Firm Prices Noted For Cattle , Pigs At Te Puke Stock Sale
A small yarding of pigs sold at increased prices at the Te Puke stock sale conducted by the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. Ltd. Fat and boner cattle were yarded in average numbers and sold at prices very firm on late rates.
A good clearance was effected of a medium yarding of dairy cattle. Range of prices:— Pigs: Choppers, £3 5s to £7 ss; medium to heavy baconers, £6 15s to £7 3s; light baconers, £5 11s to £6 10s; heavy porkers, £4 15s to £5 ss; light porkers, £3 15s to £4 10s. Cattle: Heavy fat cows ex dairy, £ll 5s to £l4; medium fat cows, £8 to £10; light fat cows, £7 to £8; boner cows, £7 to £8; light boner cows, £3 to £6 10s; medium yearling Jersey heifers, £6; dairy cows, calving July, £l2 to £l4.
Pedigree Jersey * cows sold: Thornlea Desire to Mr L. Fisher, Whakatane, 23gns; Thornlea Clara to Mr A. E. West, Whakatane, 29 gns.
