Some Surprises In Rugby Competitions
There were several surprises m Rugby matches at Whakatane over the week-end. In the representative games played at Te Teko all three were won by Rangitaiki. In the senior A match Rangitaiki 23 Whakatane 6, senior B Rangitaiki 11 Whakatane 6, junior Rangitaiki 6 Whakatane 5.
In the Whakatane club games Paroa went further ahead with a win over Taneatua while the second team Wairaka were well beaten by Poroporo. The results of games played:— Senior: Paroa 21 Taneatua 8, Poroporo 16 Wairaka 5, United 14 Ruatoki 11. Junior: Taneatua 23 Poroporo 6, United 6 Wairaka 3, Paroa 5 School 0. Third grade: Ruatoki 19 School A 0.
