Poor Attendance At Otakiri Meeting: No Committee Elected
Because -of the poor attendance
to the annual meeting of the Otakiri Hall Committee no new com--mittee was elected because it was
felt by those present that the meet--'Cing was not representative of the people. Although ther an»PtJal report was received it was decided to leave the election of officers over until a further meeting, which is to be held onVTuesday. Disappointment at' the poor at-
tendance was expressed by a number of speakers who pointed out that the hall was a public hall and
the centre of the district’s social activities. The funds that were raised went to local sports, bodies and other organisations and' it was felt
that the meeting deserved a better attendance. Only by the full support of the people could the hall be maintained as an asset to the district.
