Cheerful Atmosphere At Matata Meeting Of Women’s Institute

Although it was a very dull day, there was a very cheerful and bright atmosphere inside the Presbyterian Hall, at the monthly meeting of the Matata Women’s Institute. Birthday sprays were presented to Mesdames McGee and Taylor, who were also the hostesses for the afternoon.

Mrs Warbrick was the winner of a wall competition. Proceeds from a sales table were for the drama fund.

Competition results: Darned sock, Mrs Warbrick 1, Miss Anderson 2, Mrs Smith 3; ginger bread, Miss Anderson 1, Mrs Reichardt 2, Mrs McGee 3; best flower, Mrs Warbrick 1, Mrs Smith 2; best vegetable, Mrs Parkinson 1, Mrs R. Withy 2, Mrs Taylor 3.
