Work On Murupara Telephone Exchange
Work on the new Murupara telephone exchange building has now been started and is expected to be completed soon. For many months, telephones have been installed in the houses —a promise of what the future holds when there is an exchange with which to connect them. At present residents, in order to contact the nurse or doctoi’, have to journey many miles to the nearest telephone.
When the exchange is built and the phones are in use, telegrams will be phoned direct to Ihe person, saving perhaps two days in time.
A great day is about to dawn in the lives of the residents of Murupara and Galatea, with much saving of benzine, tyres and tempers.
