Waimana 7.30 Club Farewells Member
The Waimana*’ 7.30 Club organised a gay evening last week to farewell a popular member, Miss N. Patter. The time was spent with dancing, old-time and modern, and games.
The Scottish dance, ‘Strip the Willow” - was danced with great vim. Mrs M. King played for the dancing, assisted by Mr D. Wardlaw with his steel guitar, and Mr M. King was M.C. Mrs C. Stansbury, in her usual capable manner presented several elocution items, and received an enthusiastic ovation. Following supper, Mr King, on behalf., of club members and friends, presented Miss Potter with a lovely hand mirror. Miss Potter had been a regular attendant at club nights, and of great assistance in helping to assist learners to dance. Dancing and games continued until th</ early hours of the morning.
