Good Competition For Cows , Pigs & Hay At Clearing Sale
A good clearance was made under spirited competition of all the dairy cattle and pigs at the Te Puke clearing sale conducted by the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. Ltd. A dairy herd came forward in excellent condition, and sold at the average price of £lB. Breeding sows and store pigs also sold well under keen competition. Range of prices:—
Dairy Cattle: Best quality Julv calvers, £l9 to £24 10s; older cows and late calvers, £lO 10s to £lB. Pigs: Breeding sows to farrow from July, £l3 10s to £ls; 20 months Berkshire boar, 8| guineas. Two stacks of hay harvested from six acres realised £26 and*£3o 10s.
