Taneatua W.D.F.F . Celebrates Coming Of Age At Gag Party
An important occasion in the history of the Women’s Division of Federated Farmers, Taneatua, was celebrated this week when members and guests presided over by Mrs F. J. Hayward, president, attended the twenty-first birthday of the. branch. Celebrations took the form of a dinner and social items interspersed with speeches. The birthday cake, iced by Mrs •Coppell, was cut by Mrs Haultain, .Awakeri. Speakers were Mrs Grace, •first president, Mrs Mcßae, Opotiki, Mrs E. C. Haultain, Awakeri, Mrs L. Grey, Taneatua, Mrs A. Hill, Murupara, Mr A. Reeves, Auckland Province, Mr G. Yeoman, Bay of Plenty Federated Farmers, and Mr 'Grey, Taneatua, Young Farmers’ Clubs.
Items were given by Miss Cushla Doran, piano; Taneatua W.I. Glee Club; Mrs J. Goodhew, elocutionary items, Mrs Campbell, songs. The federation members staged a play “Aren’t Husbands a Problem, those taking part being Mesdames E. Kill, R. McGougan, M. Grace, A. ‘Torrie, A. Prince, J. Goodhew and H. J. Hayward.
