NEW HIGH SCHOOL COMMITTEE TO BE ESTABLISHED
With the raising of the Whakatane District High School to a separate secondary school unit the control of the secondary department has passed from that of the original committee and is now to be placed under a committee of management. Nominations for the committee are now being called and an election is to be held next month.
The new organisation is to be called the Whakatane High' School Committee of Management and will consist of four representatives of householders in the borough and three parents and guardians of children attending the high school but diving outside the borough. The committee will be similar to those now operating in other centres and will be responsible to the Auckland Education Board. The election is to be held on June 14 but nominations close with the returning officer, Mr I. S. McHarg, high school principle, on May ’3l t 5 p.m. Nominations are to be made on nomination forms, which are available from Mr McHarg.
