Smaller Attendance At Manawahe Meeting

Mrs E. Goldsmith presided over a smaller attendance than usual at the monthly meeting of the Manawahe Women’s Institute. A competition, guessing the names of song”, caused amusement and was won by Mrs Jones.

During the afternoon a demonstration on various types of patchwork was given by Mrs Bowden. Competition results:—

Child’s school lunch, Mrs D. Jones 1, Mrs E. Goldsmith 2; shrub, Mrs Appleby and Mrs Goldsmith 1 equal, Mrs Mikkelsen 2; flower, Mrs Appleby 1, Mrs Morice 2; vegetable, Mrs King 1, Mrs Mikkelsen 2.
