Attractive Display Of Flowers Is Seen At Waimana Meeting

A display of flowers for competition was beautifully arranged at the monthly meeting of the Waimana Women’s Institute. Mrs Day was welcomed as a new member.

Mrs N. Potter gave an interestinging talk on the Bay of Islands, and also addressed the meeting on how farmers took their pigs and cattle to market. A sketch was presented by Mrs C. Hewitt, Miss Wylde and Mrs C. Wylde.

It was decided to hold the Institute birthday celebrations on August 10 and to be an evening function. Invitations to Otakiri and Woodlands birthdays were received. The days competitions were well entered for, Mrs D. Grover and Mrs Lindsay acting as' judges. Single flower, Mrs Hewitt 1, Mrs McLean 2, Mrs'F. Bell 3; multiple flower, Mrs Hewitt 1, Mrs F. Bell 2, Mrs M. King 3; onion, Mrs C. Bell 1, Mrs Kelsen 2, Mrs Hewitt 3; vegetable, Mrs Hodgson 1, Mrs F. Bell 2, Mrs Hewitt 3; nut loaf, Mrs Bettleheim 1, Mrs F. Bell 2, Mrs Wylde 3; worked cushion, Mrs Hewir + 1, Mrs Hodgson 2, Miss Wylde 3.
