Officers Elected To New Citizens' Association
A large crowd at a public meeting at Whakatane on Tuesday night formally adopted a constitution and rules of the newly-formed Whakatane Citizens’ Association and elected officers. The meeting was presided over by Mr G. A. Wilkes with Mr J. Mawkes acting as secretary. Officers elected: —
President, Mr L. C. Ricards; vicepresident, Mr F. P. McCallion; secretary, Mr J. Mawkes; committee, Messrs G. Washer (junior), A. J. Atkinson, M. White, Sharland, Wilkes, Kemp, W. Stringer, Vitali, Cockerell, Mrs D. C. Petty, auditor, Mr N. H. Hockin.
