District Institutes Raise Good Sum By Special Efforts
By special efforts institutes throughout the district had raised £76 10s 3d to assist the Dominion Conference Headquarter’s Building Fund it was revealed at the annual meeting of the Eastern Bay of Plenty Federation of Women’s Institutes held at Whakatane. Already a building has been purchased for the headquarters. It was decided to hold the annual council meeting at Taneatua. The balance sheet presented by Mrs K. Stewart showed a good credit balance. Officers elected:—
President, Mrs A. McCallion (Opotiki); committee, Mesdames Bowden (Manawahe), Branch (Thornton), Hewitt (Waimana), Holland (Woodlands), Stewart (Whakatane), Grey tTaneatua), Roberts (Edgecumbe), R. Smith (Opotiki), R. Withy (Matata), Carr (Otakiri), Miss Lambert (Waiotahi).
