Rise In Standard Of Shooting In Archery Club

The good feeling and sportsmanship that existed among archers of the district was referred to by the club captain, Mr R. Hunter, at the annual meeting of the Whakatane

Archery Club. This had undoubtedly contributed to the success of the past, and had also' been mirrored in the rise in the standard of shooting.

If the shooting of members continued to improve he felt that Wha- ' katane had every chance of retaining the Rose Bowl, for competition between Bay of Plenty Clubs, when it is next competed for next November.

It was decided that membership

fees will include the subscription to the Bay of Plenty Association.

Officers elected:—

Patron, Dr E. T. Dawson; presir dent, Mr R. Hunter; vice-presi-dents, Messrs A. Atkinson and F. T. Hunter; secretary, Mr F. T. Hunter; publicity officer, Mr E. Smart; auditor, Mr L. Roach; field captain, Mr J. Dahl; deputy field captain, Messrs V. Walker and T. Smart; lady paramount, Mrs R. Hunter; deputy lady paramount, Mrs N. Henry; committee, Mrs Smart, Messrs P. Dredge and E. Smart: social committee, Mesdames R. Hunter, P. Lynds, J. Dahl, F. Hunter, Miss P. Rivett. Messrs R. Hunter and Atkinson.
