Whakatane Boys Go Well in Decathlon
Showing great stamina in most of their events the Whakatane High School representatives, A. Pryor, H. Woods and T. Lyon, competed strongly at the Bay of Plenty intersecondary school modified decathlon competition held at Katikati and resulted in Pryor coming second and Woods fourth. Schools from Opotiki, Whakatane, Te Puke, Tauranga and Katikati were represented.
Pryor gained 6578.375 points and was second to the winner L. D. C. Bakewell, Katikati, who scored 6837.25 points. Woods gained 6515 points. Lyon was sixth with 6351.25 points.
