Some exciting matches were seen last week and there are definite signs that the standard of play is improving steadily. Men: Whakatane v Matata at Whakatane 2.15 p.m., Chaytor and Mrs Chamberlain; Riverslea v Rovers at Edgecumbe 2.15 p.m., M. Thompson and Crooks; Apanui v Awakeri at Apanui 2.15 p.m., Marx and Webby. Poroporo a bye.
