Change In Radio Hours Won’t Affect Bay Station Much
The Bay of Plenty broadcasting station IYZ wil not be affected to any great extent in the change of broadcasting hours for all New Zealand stations, which is to come into operation next Monday. All the national and commercial stations are to observe the following new hours:—
The service will close down at 10.30 p.m. from Monday to Friday, instead of at midnight as at present. Saturday hours will remain unchanged. On Sundays the service will commence at 7.30 a.m. instead of 6 a.m. and close down at 10 p.m. These cuts are being made to assist in power conservation. At present the daily hours observed by IYZ are from 7 a.m. to 10.30 p.m. so that the only time it will be affected will be on Sunday when it will come on the air half tn hour later and close down half an hour earlier.
