Little Change In Power Consumption In Bay Board’s Area

The power position in the Bay of Plenty Power Board’s area, including the Whakatane Borough, has not changed and although a big saving has been made by the introductions of the evening cuts and voluntary rationing consumption is still far from the required quota. The Sunday afternoon cut in the borough has been of some help. In the borough the consumption has been brought down and it is believed that most consumers are saving. Individual accounts are being watched continually by an inspector and where a consumer is using more than he should he is warned to reduce immediately. At the present time no further cuts are planned but all consumers are still asked to watch their consumption. (
