New Hunt Club Is Formed By Meeting For Whakatane Area
A decision to form the Whakatane Hunt Club was unanimously reached at a meeting at Whakatane this week when the Rangitaiki Ward of the Opotiki Hunt Club was wound up. '
With the establishment of the club hunts will be held each week throughout the season wljile the new club will now own its own pack of hounds.
The Whakatane season is to open on May 6 at the Thornton course.
Officers elected: —
Master, Mr W. E. Goldsmith; deputy masters, Messrs G. Haslam and R. Thompson; huntsman, Mr R. Gordon; committee, Father Curley, Messrs J., Haslam, A. Thompson, A. Smith, J. Bennell, G. Henry, T. Fabish, K. Sisam; L. Goldsmith; secretary, Mr H. W. Sharp.
