Pollution Of River Concerns Farmers
Concern at the probable pollution of the Rangitaiki River by effluent from the proposed new paper pulp mill at Murupara was expressed at the annual meeting of the Bay of Plenty Sub-province of Auckland Federated Farmers. Delegates from the Rangitaiki Plains Branch considered there was a potential danger *0 people who used the river as a water supply. It was decided to lodge a protest to the appropriate authority.
