Telephone Directory For Bay Of Plenty & Rotorua Districts

The new Bay of Plenty-Rotorua telephone directory has been received at Whakatane and is now being distributed through the district. In previous directories Whakatane alohg with other centres of the Bay of Plenty have been listed in the Thames issue but because at the closer interest between Rotorua and Bay of Plenty it was decided to have one directory to cover the two districts. Thames will now take its own directory. Noticeable in the new directory is the increase in the number of subscribers at Whakatane. In the previous issue Whakatane covered nine pages but has now grown to 14. 1

Beside Whakatane the other exchanges listed in the issue are: Tauranga, Rotorua, Katikati, Mamaku, Matata, Opotiki, Putaruru, Reporoa, Taneatua, Taupo, Te Puke, Te Teko, Waimana and Whakatane in that order.
