Smaller Yardings Of Pigs And Cattle At Fortnightly Sale

Both pigs and cattle were yarded in smaller numbers at the fortnightly Te Puke stock sale of the N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. Ltd. A total clearance was made under very keen competition for all classes of stock offered at prices showing an increase on recent quotations. There was a keen demand for pork. Range of prices:— Pigs: Choppers, £4 15s to £7 15s; prime heavy baconers, £6 18s to £7 2s; medium to heavy baconers, £6 10s to £6 16s; light baconers, £5 10s to £6 ss; heavy porkers, £4 10s to £5; light porkers, £3 10s to £4 ss; slips, 35s to 455; weaners, 20s to 30s. Cattle: Fat Jersey cows, £9 5s to £lO 15s, light fat cows, £7 to £8; boner cows, £7 to £8; light boner cows, £5 to £6 15s; potter bulls, £7 to £l3.
