Many Trophies Presented To The Local Archery Club

A good muster of members were present at the general meeting of the Whakatane Archery Club when numerous trophies were on display including the Standard Rose Bowl won at Tauranga last month against other Bay of Plenty Clubs. Mr R. Hunter, club captain, congratulated the team on their splendid win and stressed the need for continuous practice to hold the trophy, which is next shot for in Whakatane in November. Two shields one for men and one for women will be competed for each month and shooting will commence next month.

Mrs J. Lynds presented a silver sandwich tray for a Clout Sfioot trophy for women members. It was revealed that Mr Thompson, Rotorua, is donating a trophy for a nomination shoot.

Mr J. McDougall, President of the Auckland Archery Club, wrote congratulating the club on their win in the Bay competition and wrote of the future of archery in New Zealand.
