FINAL “ON HOOKS” PIG JUDGING OF SUMMER SHOW
Final prize awards for pigs entered in the Whakatane and Rangitaiki Agrieuhural Society’s annual show have now been decided. The animals were first judged on the hoof "at the show and were subsequently taken to the freezing Works and killed and judged again bn the “hooks”. The standard of the pigs entered was said to be very high. t Results:— Best porker any breed' or cross, 60-301bs: J. S. Proffit 77 points 1, J. Shaw, J. Heremia and Shaw 70 points 2 equal, W. D. Hope, R. S. Mundy, H. C. Carter, McFarland and Phillips, J. Shaw and J. Heremia 69 3 equal. Best porker, any breed or cross, 81-1001bs: J. S. Proffit 72 1, J. Heremia 70 2, J. E. Black and S. G. Ker 68 3 equal. Best baconer, any breed or cross up to lOOlbs: R. S. Mundy 86 1, H. C. White *77 2, J. E. Black 71 3.
