Erratic Bidding Noted At Sheep & Lamb Pelt Sale
Wellington, yesterday,
The New Zealand Meat Producers Board advises that the third sale for the season of pickled sheep and lamb pelts under the Pelt Regulations was held in Wellington before a representative bench of Offerings totalled 169 lots comprising 48,780 dozen shep and 204,221 dozen lamb pelts.- Bidding was inclined to be .erratic but overall the prices of sheep pelts were firm on those of the previous sale with lamb pelts showing a slight falling .off. Range of prices:—
Auckland, including Bay of Plenty: Sheep 124 s to 136 s 6d per dozen, lambs 77s 6d to 89s 6d. Hawkes Bay-East Coast: Sheep 121 s 6d to 727 s per dozen, lambs 70s to 77s 6d per dozen. Welling-ton-West Coast: Sheep 129 s to 140 s •6d per dozen, lambs 74s to 93s 6d.
