Most Successful Member of Matata W.I. Was Mrs Taylor
The total points prize for the year was won by Mrsjp. Taylor, who dlso won the prizes for sewing, cookery, best monthly flower and vegetable, it was reported to the monthly meeting of the Matata Women s Institute. The prize for decorative work went to Mrs H. Laugeson. A trophy was presented to Mrs J. Dredge, who was the only unplaced member.
Mrs H. Withy gave a talk on the aims of the Institute, and also voiced the appreciation of the members to Mrs R. Withy, who has been a willing and able president for fdur years.
Competition results: — Vase of flowers, Mrs H. Burt 1, Mrs Jamieson 2, Mrs Taylor 3; tray cloth, Mrs S. Macgill 1, Mrs Taylor 2, Mrs Dredge 3; peasant apron, Mrs Taylor 1, Mrs Jamieson 2, Mrs C. Conn 3; queen cakes, Mrs Burt 1, Mrs Conn 2, Mrs Jamieson 3; best flower, Mrs Taylor 1, Mrs Jamieson 2, Mrs Dredge 3; best vegetable, Mrs Conn 1, Mrs Jamieson 2, Mrs Taylor 3.
