MANY WEEK-END GAMES ARRANGED Clubs in the district have some important tennis fixtures during the -week-end. Tomorrow the final match for the Wilson Cup between Whakatane Maori and Whakatohea (Opotiki) will be played at Opotiki while on Sunday the Whakatane Club has two important trophy matches. A game for the Dunlop Shield will be played against Rotorua at Whakatane while a B grade team will contest the Morton Cup at Mt. Maunganui.
WHAKATANE TENNIS TEAMS “A” team to play Rotorua at Whakatane on Sunday, commencing at 10 a.m.: Misses M. Hall, M. Pithie, M. Gow, Mrs P. Bridger. I. Wylds, E. Wilson, R. Mahy, G. Gordon. “B” team to play at Mt. Maunganui on Sunday. Players to assemble at the courts at 8 a.m.: Mrs J. McKenzie, Misses P. Carter, M. Righton, P. Gartshore. J. Snodgrass, C. Wells, J. Pearson, G. Gartshore.
