Gift Evenings Held For Young Couple
There was a large gathering of friends at the residence of Mr and Mrs A. C. Martin, Whakatane, to honour the forthcoming marriage of Miss V. Grant to Mr W. Goodwin. The evening was spent in most enjoyable entertainment in the form of cards, musical items and games, capably arranged by the hostess. The guests of honour were presented with many beautiful and useful gifts. A similar gathering was held for the young couple at the residence of Mr and Mrs J. C. Metcalfe, Whakatane, when the lucky pair were again the receivers of more lovely presents.
