PUKEHINA SPORTS
Sir,—l read'- with much interest a A article in Monday’s issue headed Fine Performance by Whakatane Sportsman. With all due regards to Mr Stewart and congratulations on his speedy recovery, I really think the article should have read, "Fine Performance by Nippy.” In fact he was very prominent all day, being the only favoured horse tied in the show ring itself. To several car loads of "hossey” people who paid entrance fees to see their own horses compete Nippy was the only horse they saw. However, other riders of local interest, did gain places at Pukehina. Mrs J. R. Bennell, second in the Maiden Jump, Open Jump won by K. Sisam, and at least eight ribbons came home to three young riders in the children’s section, Colin Henry, Graham and Betty Magee.
Yours etc.,
FAIR PLAY,
March 14'.'
