WHAKATANE TEAM HAS TWO SECONDS x Finishing, with a final total of 85 points, five behind the winners Tauranga, Whakatane came a closp second in the Rotorua and Bay of Plenty Challenge Cup shoot for gun clubs held at Tauranga on Saturday. Rotorua was third. In the second shoot of the meeting for the Davis Memorial Cup Whakatane again finished second with 88 points to Rotorua, 92, while Tauranga was thii'd. Conditions were bad for shooting. A gusty south-westerly blew and there was a hailstorm, with rain at intervals for most of the day. The conditions of both matches were 15 clay birds, single rise, with teams of seven shooting off 16 yards.
