Trust Control The Mount Maunganui Borough Council has decided to apply to the Licensing Control Committee .. to have the two licences recently allocated to the borough conducted under the Trust system. The licences granted are for one four; star hotel and a three star hotel. Lead Poisoning In Cattle Many cattle die from lead poisoning every year. The most common source of lead on the farm is paint, so the Department of Agriculture urges farmers to haake sure that old paint tins are burnt or buried and not to allow cows or calves to lick surfaces from which paint is flaking. Awakeri P.T.A. Meets A decision to purchase a duplicator for the school was reached by the monthly meeting of the Awakeri Parent Teacher Association. After the business the meeting turned more to a social gathering when various games were played. Prizes were won by Mesdames L. Madely, A. Hopkirk and Mr G. Tressider.
