Good Clearance Of Pigs At Te Puke

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. Ltd., report as follows on their fortnightly stock sale held at Te Puke:—

Pigs were yarded in smaller numbers, but a good clearance was made. Prices for heavy baconers showed a slight increase while values for light baconers and large buttermilk pigs remained very firm. Values for light porkers and small stores met with keener competition and sold at values in excess of those realised at the sale a- fortnight ago. A medium yarding of fat and boner cows ex dairy sold at prices on a par with late rates. Following is a range of prices:—

Pigs: Choppers, £5 10s to £8 2s 6d; prime heavy baconers, £6 16s to £7; medium to heavy baconers, £6 8s to £6 15s; light baconers, £5 5s to £6; large buttermilk pigs, £5 to £5 18s; heavy porkers, £4 10s to £5; light porkers, £3 to £4; slips, 35s to 48s; weaners, 21s to 335. Cattle: Fat Jersey cows, £8 to £1*0; boner cows, £6 15s to £7 15s; light boner cows, £4 to £6 10s; potter bulls, £7 15s to £l3; light potter bulls; £4 10s to £6 10s.
