Fortnightly Opotiki Stock Sale Draws Higher Quotations
Competition was particularly keen and showed an increase of 14 to 15 shillings ahead of previous quotations at Messrs Dalgety and Company Limited’s fortnightly stock sale held at Opotiki on Thursday. There was a medium yarding of fat an boner cattle and a total clearance was made under the hammer. Realisations were:—
Fat Jersey steers to £l6 15s; fat Jersey cows, £8 2s 6d to £8 15s; medium Jersey cows, £7 10s to £7 17s 6d; light Jersey cows, £6 17s 6d to £7, heavy boner cows, £6 5s to £6 12s 6d'; light boner cows, £5 to £5 10s; small Jersey steers to £4 15s; potter bulls according to weight, £5 to £lO ss.
