District Local Bodies Urged To Meet More Often

“I feel that the local bodies in the Bay of Plenty area could well get together more often and that nothing but good could come from the friendly intermingling of the representatives of the different organisations,” declared the chairman of the Tauranga Harbour Board, Mr J. D. Alach, at a recent gathering of Bay of Plenty local body representatives. Up till now, he said, there had been a definite lack in that respect. “I am convinced that the Bay of Plenty-Rotorua area has greater scope for advancement than any district in New Zealand,” he continued. The whole area should be regarded as a unit and not as separate parts.

Any development which took part in the Bay of Plenty would benefit all parts and not only isolated portions of the districts.
