FEW HIGH SCORES AT RANGITAIKI
The Rangitaiki Defence Rifle Club held a competition at Thornton on Saturday. The conditions Were for seven shots at 500 and 600 yards. A westerly wind prevented competitors from making high scores. The next competition will be held on Saturday. Scores:— R. Burfess 32 (500yds), 32 (600 yds), 64 (total); L. Davies 33, 31, 64; P. Newton 29, 34, 63: A. Moore 30, 32, 62; P. McGillan 32. 30, 62; W. Moore 31, 31, 62; P. McKav 28, 28, 56; M. McKay 27, 26, 53. SHOOT AT WHAKATANE ON SUNDAY On Sunday the Whakatane Legion Miniature Rifle Club will reopen their outdoor range at Valley Road, Whakatane, with the first shoot to be held this year. Whakatane Frontiersmen have two New Zealand wide competitions to shoot, while other club members will take part in the usual competition shoot.
