N.Z. Surf Is Just As Good
Surf that they have so far experienced in New Zealand is as good as any in Australia, according to the manager of the touring Australian Surf Life Saving team, Mr V. Bessamo, during a visit to Whakatane yesterday. Before leaving Australia Mr Bessamo said the team had been told there was no surf worth worrying about in New Zealand.
This was not so, he added. The big breakers at Piha, Auckland, and Muriwai, were the equal of any found rolling in on the Australian surf beaches.
