Drains Satisfactory Plumbing and drainage work at Whakatane is satisfactory the health inspector states, following an inspection of the borough. Frame Completed The frame of a new garage and store room in King Street has been completed. Further work is to be carried out as soon as possible. Infectious Diseases. No infectious diseases were reported at Whakatane last month, according to the health inspector, Mr A. R. Knights. Line Replacements Steady progress is being made replacing main power lines in King Street. A number of poles are also being replaced. New Service Line ' One new three phase service line has been erected in Commerce Street to supply a water pump. New Pumping Plant The installation of the new water works' pumping plant for the borough is now proceeding steadily. Work is to be pushed ahead as quickly as possible to relieve the present existing pumps.
