PERSONAL

The appointments of Mr D. G. Ball as assistant-Director of Education (professional), and Mr C. G. S. Ellis, as assistant-Director (administrator) have been announced by the Public Service Commission.

Mr H. M. Carter, who has been station master at Edgecumbe for the last five years, leaves next Friday on transfer as stationmaster at Wairoa, Hawke’s Bay. He is to be replaced in the meantime by the assistant relieving officer, Auckland, Mr R. P. Russell, who is also a former stationmaster of Edgecumbe.
