Department Of Maori Affairs Criticised At Farmers 9 Meeting

- The Maori Department talked a lot but did little, asserted Mr F. G. Moloney, a speaker at a meeting of farmers at Te Puna, called to discuss the development of Crown and Maori land in the Te Puna area, near Tauranga. The meeting decided to support any development scheme but it was realised that a long term view would have to be taken.

Mr Moloney said that some time ago promises had been made that Maori land in the district would be broken in. Nothing had been done, however, and it appeared that the scheme might be allowed to drift for another ten years. It was decided to approach the Minister of Lands, the Hon E. B. Corbett.
