Mr W. Stuart, Whakatane, leaves tonight on a week-end visit to Auckland.
Dr and Mrs R. N. Akel, Whakatane, are at present holidaying at Lake Rotoma.
' Mr B. Cutler and Mr A. Norman leave Whakatane tonight for Auckland where they will visit the final day of the 1950 British Empire Games tomorrow.
Dr E. F. C. Hefford, president of the Whakatane Surf Club, leaves tomorrow with Mr J. Whitehead, secretary, to attend a surf carnival at Piha Beach, Auckland. They will return to Whakatane on Supday.
Hon W. Sullivan leaves Wellington for Rotorua today. He will stay at Rotorua until Saturday evening, when ’he comes on to Whakatane. * He goes back to Wellington by air on Tuesday.
Mr J. N. Blaymires, chairman of the Pongakawa Rabbit Board, has been appointed delegate to represent his board at the annual conference of the North Island .Rabbit Board’s Association, to be held at Napier in April. Remits for the conference will be considered at the next meeting of the board.
Mr Chas. Greeves, of Hamilton, will be visiting Whakatane on Tuesday. President of the Hamilton branch of the Home Servicemen’s Association, Mr Greeves is also a member of the sub-commit-tee set up at the last Dominion conference of the Association to investigate the possibilities of increasing food production.
