New Minister For Methodist Church Meets Congregation

On Monday night members of the Methodist congregation at Whakatane, and well-wishers from other (denominations turned out in force to meet and welcome the new' Methodist Minister, Rev Wm. C. Jenkin, on transfer from Piction to replace Rev F. J. Climo who recently went to Opotiki. The induction service, conducted by the Chairman of the District, Rev S. J. Werren, Hamilton, was followed by a social hour, at which Mr and Mrs Jenkin were guests of honour. Mr Werren was assisted by Mr J. Beech, of Waihi, vice-presi-dent of the conference, ? who addressed the congregation. The social was presided over by Mr A. F. Barwell, circuit steward. Rev J. N. A. Smith spoke on behalf of the Ministers’ Association, - and Mrs Ramson on behalf of the women, of the congregation, welcomed Mrs Jenkin.
