Sock-Making Sultan Seeks British Aid
Agha Mir Haji, Sultan Ahmed Ibrahim Khan, brother of the Khan of Kalat, in Baluchistan, is to make 50,000 pairs of stockings for Pakistan - Boy v Scouts. The Sultan, who has just been visited in his mountain fastness by a representative of the Pakistan Office of the International Wool Secretariat, has four * hand-knitting rpachines in the village of Khuzdhar. He told the I.W.S. representative that he wants some new machines from Britain. And he wants from Britain, too, supplies of yarn suitable for Army socks and tropical hose.
